Rainbow History Class to go live at Sydney WorldPride 2023

We are so excited to connect with our community in person at the Rainbow History Class live classroom. Queer and trans history is so often erased, so it's so important to create a space to learn and celebrate our shared story.

TikTok sensation Rainbow History Class is a home for queer and trans stories from history. Our channels are an entertaining and fun space for LGBTIQA+ people and their allies to learn and discuss the lesser known history of our community.

The Rainbow History Class Live Classroom is coming to Sydney as part of Sydney WorldPride’s WorldPride Arts program. The initiative will bring the queer community’s history to life over three nights of celebratory storytelling in Sydney’s Darlinghurst Theatre from 2-4 March 2023.

Dan Clarke, Sydney WorldPride’s Festival Creative Director – WorldPride Arts, said: “It is a huge privilege to be showcasing such diversity, creativity and artistic talent as part of Sydney WorldPride, with performers and artists hailing from across Australia and around the world."

In the Rainbow History Class Live Classroom (as seen previously at Comic Con and the MCA), co-creators Rudy Jean Rigg and Hannah McElhinney will leave the internet behind and bring the history of our community to life IRL in an evening of celebratory storytelling. Homework Optional. Detention never. Glitter always.

Rainbow History Class is an original creator show from Snack Drawer. The social media sensation won best Creator at this year’s AIMCO Australian Influencer Marketing Awards and has collaborated with brands including AAP, Dr. Martens, Google Arts and Culture, Menulog, TikTok and Oxfam.
