Editorial Lead (Providing Services to Netflix Client)

Melbourne VIC, Australia

Job Type

Full Time

About the Role

You will work closely with the Netflix Client to set the editorial vision and angle across the Netflix ANZ social media and editorial channels.

You will work in tandem with the Chief of Staff on the Netflix account to implement the editorial direction across all content, and take the team of dedicated Netflix ANZ account creators along with you on your journey.

You will manage a roster of freelance writers, managing the budget, briefing and editing their work to ensure it’s the best take on TV possible.

You will manage the Netflix ANZ Twitter account through providing thoughtful commentary that showcases the best of the Australian and New Zealand film industries.

You will oversee push copy on social media posts to ensure there is no editorial touchpoint left overlooked.

Requirements

You have 3 years + experience in media, publishing or content and a firm grasp on the media landscape.

You’re a cultural conversationalist. The kind of person people approach for their take on pop culture. You’re able to spot emerging social media trends and are in on the jokes of the internet. More than this, you’re able to make meaning out of these trends and know when it’s appropriate to weigh on the conversation, and what the right angle is.

You’re progressive in your outlook and know how to step outside your bubble and consider different points of view.

You are disturbed by content that rehashes old conversations and know what it means to be actively bored. You’ve got a handful of writers in your pocket and know how to manage and edit them to produce cutting edge written and editorial content.

Sure, you like music, but you’re more of a podcast person, you know? You never watch a tv show without listening to the companion podcast.

You’re able to balance giving the people what they want with knowing when to push the envelope. Crucially, you’re able to understand Brand Tone Of Voice and values, so you ensure that all content created is consistent and bang on brand.
